i am having a problem ,actually several. first car shows egr code off and on. runs good while off and bad on car is also difficult to start when warmed up. i have a 383 super ram, e8 mm tb custom chip headers ,high torque starter fact maf sensor new o2 sensor,new ecm as of yesterday. car does not go into closed loop at 180 degrees..i hope i gave you enough details . thanks for any input erik..

I have about the exact same set up as yourself, 85 383 with a super ram. Last year mine would not go into closed loop. After an exhaustive search I found a malfunctioning knock sensor.
With the key on and the engine off disconnect the wire to the O2 sensor and see if you are getting some voltage from the ECM if so that would block the O2 sensor for functioning properly. As you know the O2 sensor creates its own voltage when warmed up enough to tell the ECM to go into closed loop. Motorbooks' Chevolet Fuel Injection by Ben Watson, covers that proceedure on page 120. Don't give up....
