After getting the "SYS" warning a few days ago, I recorded the CCM history codes (27, 32, 34, 36, & 38), cleared them out, and hoped all would be well without tearing into the dash. No such luck. I went for a drive today and everything was looking good until I was almost home. The dash started flashing and displaying garbage for a minute or so, then it went completely blank. I turned the running lights on and verified that the dash backlighting still worked, then drove the last few minutes at who knows what speed.
As soon as I hit the bump where the curb meets my driveway, the dash came back to life. I checked the CCM codes and nothing new had been set. So now it looks like I'll definitely be getting behind the dash and checking CCM and LED connections. While I'm at it, maybe I can finally try to track down the loose connection that makes the "ABS ACTIVE" light come on whenever I hit a bump or tap on the dash. Ah, the joys of electrical gremlins in a 13 year old sports car!
