LT1 Performance Module
Do these do anything or are they another paperweight mod like the air foil?
If they do something, are they safe to run all the time or should they only be hooked up when needed.
Are you talking about a PCM override that hooks into your system?
That little box that connects in the PCM harness made by JET and others. If that is what you mean it is a POS and it doesn't even make a decent paper weight.
Your profile indicates you have a '96. You don't need anything tuning wise, the factory tuning is optimal for a stock engine. You COULD let a tuner tune it and MAYBE get an add'l 10hp out of it, which you won't feel anyhow, but at the expense of your radiator fans running most of the time, increased alternator wear (from the fans on most of the time), and let's hope your knock sensors don't miss a beat if you ever get some bad gas since the timing tables were made borderline too aggressive, and maybe also if you're lucky it won't scorch a valve because the PE tables were reformulated too lean.
No need to try and re-invent the wheel, the GM tuning is pretty tight and represents the best compromise for power vs. margin of safety for engine life.
Stock engine? Keep the stock tuning.
