Default LT4 Heads

What are the dimensions of the intake ports on a LT4 vs LT1. The LT4 is supposed to be higher, but the intake gaskets I find say they are for both(Summit #FPP1284 is for both heads). They should be different. It would either be too big for one or too small for the other. I bought the 1284 and it is too small for my heads. Anybody know what number I really need, or do I need to just get a GM one.

Thanks

Jim

I believe that the stock LT4 gaskets covered part of the intake port. I believe there is a GM gasket that fits without covering the ports and is part number 12367777. This is from Chris at Superior Chevrolet. I have yet to install my new gaskets so I can't confirm or deny that they fit right.

This is true. The 7777 gaskets match the stock LT4 ports almost perfectly!

I installed the 7777 series gasket on my lt4 a couple of months ago. It was slightly bigger so as to not cover the ports as compared to the factory gasket. If you are going to replace the intake gasket, I would definately use the 7777 series gasket.
