Default Basic N2O question.

I have a dry shot on my vette. I am spraying after the MAF.

My bottle filler mentioned that he thought a dry shot should go through the MAF, allowing the computer to richen the fuel mix.

I was under the impression that the kit I have boosts fuel pressure through the regulator with a jet on the fuel side. He was still skeptical and advised for safety sake to get some more info here. I have successfully sprayed after the MAF, but I can change that if need be. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

A wet system add fuel thru a jet. When the system is activated ( on a wet system) it opens 2 solenoids. 1 fuel and 1 nos. Assuming consistant pressure to both solenoids, tuning is done thru jet changes. Nos is jetted for power output and fuel is tweaked for the proper mixture. My car likes a 70 nos jet and a 50 fuel jet. I rin a 52 fuel jet for safety. I prefer a wet system over the dry. Mass air sensor is a high failure part. I would hate to rely on it for my nitrous needs. Dry system has 1 solenoid to dump nos only. Hope my babbling helps.

I was under the same impression as your bottle filler. The 3 dry systems that I have installed on friends cars did rely on the maf sensor to add the fuel.

Putting it before the MAF might work, but it ain't right. Hoping that a N20 spray happens to cool the heated wire the same amount as the equivalent oxygen mass of outside air is pretty optimistic.

Again, it might work, but it ain't right.

so, if it's after the MAF, what tells the computer to tell the injectors to inject more fuel?

Doesn't your kit have a tee after the solenoid with a jet leading to the fuel pressure regulator? The kits I have seen use the nitrous to pressurize the fuel pressure regulator, which in turn richens up the mixture a little.

Spraying into the MAF might break the wire.

I have this under the fuel rail cover on the pass side. Sorry for pic quality. There's an .047 jet in the blue fitting. the line that leaves the pic at the top travels along the firewall to the driver side. The other line coming in is from the firewall just above the coolant fill tank.
