Default Rearend Click??
I have a 93 with the ZF-6 and 45K miles. Each time I shift into gear and let out the clutch I get a single click coming from the rear of the car. Thinking it might be the u-joints, I jacked up the car and try to move the 1/2 shafts. They both felt very tight with no movement or clicking noise at all. Any suggestions??

you might have a bad ujoint... even if it doesn't feel loose, it could just be worn out.

could also be a wheel bearing.

Id bet on the u-joint. Look for red rusty dust around the caps.

My click was a dry, rusty spline where the halfshaft and bearing unit mate. Lubed with anti-seize and all is well

I wish somebody would have given me this advice before I had ALL of my u joints replaced...half shafts and drive shaft. The lousy thing STILL clicks. I will give this a try.
