speed sensor
Is a speed sensor hard to change on a 1987? My speedometer went black and service light came on, after shut down for a half hour now it is lite up but stayes at 0 service light is out. Seems to run fine. Thanks

Easy to replace speed sensor on 4L60
I've just been replacing my A4 transmission in my 1991. I replaced it with a A4 from a 1985, so I had to swap out the speed sensor.
The speed sensor on the trans is easy to replace. Have a drain pan handy, you'll loose some trans fluid.
You'll need to read the numbers off the one you have in the vehicle now, there are 3 different kinds for the Vette. Best to have the replacement unit in hand before removing the old one.
You might check your wiring, there may be in a short outside of the speed sensor.
