So I replaced the relays, plugs and wires.I crank it up and it sounds much better,But still won't run on her own.Whats next,Did I miss any vital relays.I replaced 2 MAF,1 Fan 1 near the plenum(Can't find the second?)By the way I also replaced the MAF sensor. For anyone who doesn't know all my underhood relays were melted! What about the IAC,Or any others? Thanks in advace.....
Maybe Agent86 can send you the schematics-if everything was fried you've got your hands full and really need the Helms manuals if you haven't got them.My guess would be if it starts and runs with a little help from the gas pedal you MIGHThave a problem with the IAC,
you might check the connection to see if it got damaged too. My books are packed so I can't really tell you if there's a relay for it. Just a thought-good luck.

Whatever caused all the relays to melt may provide a clue as to what else could possibly be wrong. All those parts had to be replaced and there were no codes set?
Fuel pump and OD relays are on the firewall by the brake booster. The aux fan relay is on the drivers side of rad. If you need some diagnstics let me know.
I live in Branson,Mo.I can't find a single wire grounded or anything.I have the Chiltons for the vette and it has been quite helpful.Where and what exactly is the IAC and does it do.She still runs a little rich and it hard to keep running.A little gas and it runs.Anything would be great!!
The IAC is the Idle Air Control. The ECM regulates the idle speed by opening the IAC to admit more (or less) air for a faster (or slower) idle. It screws into the side of your TB. It is unlikely that it will make your engine run rich.
If you like that "Chiltons", you are going to love the "Factory Service Manual", with all of it's trouble shooting charts. Pick one up at www.helminc.com
With a problem like this you need the Helm manual. It comes with a book dedicated to the electrical system with all the diagrams and schematics you need to track this sort of thing down.
I have the entire wiring diagram for the car on CD.I have been through the harness and found nothing. The IAC possibly?I'll put a new one in and let you all know.If anyone has anything they can think of I appreciate it....
If you decide to put in a new IAC, don't forget to clean the passages before putting in the new one.And once you install it you will need to start it up let it run and shut it back down to allow the IAC to set itself.

It is quite unlikely that the IAC is your problem. Save your money on the IAC and buy the manual to use the trouble shooting charts to find the CAUSE of the problem. Pretty quickly you will have paid for the book, not have it, and still not have the problem solved. www.helminc.com Besides cleaning the IAC passages, make sure you position the pintle of the IAC, as per the manual, or you may be buying a second IAC.
Is this not a symtop of an IAC.Runs rich and won't stay running.I'm at a loss and I need a code reader.Any suggestions?
IAC only controls idle speed. End of story
Running rich could be alot of things. O2 sensor for starts.
You don't need a code reader to get the codes that the ECM is telling you. Jump terminals 'A' and "B" on the aldl with a paper clip. Turn on the key and the sys light will flash 12 times then flash the code(number of flashes) followed by 12 more flashes.
