Changing rear gears ?
After reading some threads about upgrading the 2:59 with 3:07 gears I am seriously thinking about changing the gears on my 94 auto. Changing the rear is easy enough but what is involved with the speedo?And I read that the ECM must be reflashed for the trans to shift properly. Is this true and if so who would have the equipment and software to do it? Who has been down this road? Thanks

just a suggestion for you,IMO,for an LT1 its not worth a swap to 3.07's.if your goung to do one,3.54's or 3.73's will be much more noticeable.what type of driving do you mostly do with your car?I'd go with 3.54's if you have a mix of street/highway.whatever you chose,you can get your PCM reprogrammed from Brian at www.pcmforless.com so your speedo is correct,and trans shifts properly.slight hp increase/cooler running temps will be a plus

Most of the miles that I put on the 94 are not long distance driving. But I do autocross quite a bit and do HPDE days about 3-5 times a year. I'm looking for a little more pull in 2nd gear and drive gear especially on the road courses. How many RPMS would I be turning at 120mph with 3:54s? Thanks
