I bought a used Ecm ,whats required after install? I remember reading you must take it to a dealer within 100 miles after installation to get the id changed in the ECM.Is this correct & whats the purpose? Will a 91 L98 ecm be compatable in a 92 LT1 if both are automatics?

Totally incompatable.
I don't know if getting the dealer to reset the ECM to vehicle applies to the 92 LT1's, I'm sure someone else here can confirm or deny it.

Short Answer: Completely incompatible
However... you could swap wiring harnesses, sensors, and making the dash work would be next to impossible. Then you need to worry about tuning differences between L98 and LT1's. So it's not impossible, but you are going to be throwing a lot of time and dollars at this to make it work.
The ECM is not 100 miles specific (see below), but you should get it tweaked to your car's running gear such as auto/manual trans.
The Central Control Module (CCM) is what must be reprogrammed by the dealer within 100 miles. This drives the dash and stores the mileage. CCM's are a corvette specific deal and not used in Fbody's etc. This is why an Fbody wiring harness is problematic to adapt to a vette.
