I just installed pipes on my '90 that eliminated the pre-cats. Now it throws a code 32 while cruising at about 45mph. Could this be caused by the lack of pre-cats and new pipes?
Also, I currently have the air supply hose disconnected from my main catalytic converter. Could this cause any problems other than not being smog legal? Thanks for the help.
Did the headers eliminate the egr pipe?
Have you checked to see if the wire has come off the egr switch?
Vaccum lines to egr are on and intact?
This is from my 86 manual but may shed some light............... http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/Code%2032.pdf
Code 32 is EGR, so you have to leave those pipes intact. The EGR activates when you spend alot of time at part throttle and when the coolant reaches 170, which is why you see it throwing a code when on the hwy.
I just put a new EGR valve on it a couple months ago and it passed smog 2 weeks ago. It has the stock headers on it and everything seems to be hooked up... Except for the air hose to the main converter. Will having that disconnected cause any problems? Thanks for the feedback.
