Alternator test
Is there a way to test my alternator without taking it out of the vehicle and taking it to an auto store? Mine is starting to whine / chirp consistently, and the volts are slowly dropping. Thanks.

You could use a battery tester that also shows the volts being put out by the charging system to determine if it is not charging right. The best thing to do would be to take it off and have it checked though. I am not sure where yours is located on your year but mine can be off and on in five minutes or less.
