i just wanted to start a new one for this. i did the wire jump from pin 87 to pin 30 to test the ABS pump. turned the key on and i heard the pump spin on. so this is telling me if i get a new relay it make my ABS system work?
i am doing all the posting on this one? but i want to help out others. i found the abs pump relay at NAPA for $34.00. i put it in and turned the key in the on postion and heard a click click click sound and then THANK YOU the ABS light went out!!! cool!!! o am getting so close to that MD inspection i can taste it!! once i get the digital dash sloved?

i haven't turned the car on yet since i am in the middle of new muffler change, BUT when i start the vette i should hear the pump come on for a couple of seconds, right? or just the click sounds? just wondering?

The early C4 ABS controller is designed to do the pump self-test between 4 and 8 mph in forward or reverse. The ABS light should come on momentarily when you turn on the key and then go out. You may hear the relays click as they are powered up, but if the factory sound deadening material is in place and the compartment lid closed I'd say you are probably hearing something else click. At 4~8 mph the ABS controller self-tests the pump which usually sounds like a low horn note. If the test is successful, the ABS system is fully activated. If it fails, the ABS light is turned on and will not go out until the car is turned of and restarted. Early C4 ABS did not set or store trouble codes like the later C4 ABS systems.

thaks, i got most of the idea and how to from corvete fevers web page under tech. the guy in the article said most of the time its a relay. my light went out thats alls that matters to me! i did find a left rear wheel ABS senosr that some one looks like they took a vise grip to??
