Shift Light - Code 72
New to the forum - Hope I do this right. Have a 90 C-4, 383 engine, 373 rear end gear. At 70mph (actual) speedometer reads 79-80mph. Also tach reads approximately 800 RPM high. From time to time shift light (on left side of dash) comes on (car does go into overdrive). Checked code and it showed a 72 (Gear Selector Switch Fault)
Any thoughts, suggestions will be appreciated.

No - but I've had bad gear selector codes on other GM's which entailed adjusting the switch - particularly after R & R'ng the tranny. As far as I know, the 72 is loss of the speedo signal and I thought you would use the VSS Trouble Tree charts - maybe someone has one you can look at.
