getting ready to replace my injectors with as little down time as possible. i can get a set of accel fuel injectors from my local auto parts store with no problem. does anyone know of any problems with these injectors? I have a stock '90 L98.
Sincerely I really don't know why Accel injrs are considered bad.
Sometimes someone says that aren't good so all others says that they are not good without trying them.
You will find many people happy with them.

I disregarded the warnings on the forums...and paid the price.
Summit sold Accel 36 pounders.
Within first ~10,000 miles (in less than 4 months) one failed open possibly washing down the cylinder wall
Within another 2000 miles of that failure another internally shorted.
I sent them to Accel and they stated they passed the continuity test fine-sent them back to me after nearly 8 months. Poor customer service. No issues the car-different cylinder failures, etc.
I have no issues with my replacements-31.6 pounders by Delphi sold by Racetronix here on forum-new-same type GM puts in cars now.

Have you read the replys so far? I have had at least 3-4 cars have bad sets. Almost every car with them shows problems
I put a set of stock-flow Accels in my 91 last summer and after ~10,000 miles they are working fine. Hope they stay that way after reading some of the comments here!
I've got a set of Accel 24#'s that I've been running for about 8 years now, no issues with them so far. They will be replaced with 25# Bosch injectors as soon as my LPE comes in.
I had a guy who had alot of problems with htem and eventually toasted a motor. (few cylindars went lean, others stayed nice) HE called accel and they told him they new they where trash, they jsut bought up some small company who went out of buisness making injectors.
Okay fellas, you've succeeded in scaring me away from the Accels. Where can i find the Fords or Boschs. I saw some Fords on the Jegs sight but they said that they were not recommended for stock engines so i didn't know if they were the correct ones. I see that my best bet is to send mine out and get them refurbished, but I've only got one shot to pull and replace so I want to have injectors in-hand when I go in. By the way, I called my local corvette shop and he uses nothing but the Accels and said he's had no problems. I'm still not convinced.
I actually bought my 21#'ers through their eBay store, was a bit cheaper than what they show on the Five-O website. Bruce is great to deal with, very quick shipping.

My money's on Bruce, too. I bought a set of re-man, blueprinted Bosch injectors that were of such high quality in workmanship, even my mechanic asked where I got them from. Five-O Motorsports is where it's at for injectors.
The term remanufactured and blueprinted sounds sexy when it comes to a top-fed injector but they are misnomers. The term blueprinting an injector does not mean much if anything at all. At best the proper term would be cleaned and serviced.
A top-fed injector such as your Bosch EV1 units or the factory Delphi RP injectors can not be taken apart and rebuilt. The only thing that can be done is to have them ultrasonically cleaned, new o-rings fitted, new plastic pintle caps fitted (EV1 only) and the body repainted for cosmetic appeal.
The spring inside the injector gets weak with age just like a valve spring and the sealing seat wears along with all the other internal components. Since these types of injectors can not be opened their internal parts are not serviceable. No matter how good an injector can be made to look on the outside a used injector is a used injector. For the price of what many rebuild shops charge for their 're-man' Bosch EV1, Delphi RP or Siemens DEKA 1 injectors a superior Delphi disc injector can be bought factory fresh for a nominal amount more money.
being a zr-1 owner, with sixteen injectors to worry about, I've found most people go with injectors from RC engineering. I haven't replaced mine....yet, but will go with them when I do.
RC engineering will flow test and balance them prior to sending them out so you know they are gonna work. After reading the posts above about the problems with accell injectors, I would not touch them.
The RC engineering units are stainless so they will not rust. Hit thier website, I think you should consider them.

I don't doubt your word or obvious expertise, just presenting options and my personal experience with another reputable company.
In my case, financial constraints prevent me from going new, O.E.M., so re-man injectors were my best option.
