Aftermarket keyless entry help needed
I bought a cheap aftermarket keyless entry system on ebay and the intructions only state what the wires on the box are for not where do I splice them on the car. Has anyone installed one of these on a early vette? I have a 85 Coupe.

I did the same thing you are tackling on My '85 coupe - a couple of years ago. Having the helms book handy for the wiring diagrams helps! Any book with a wiring diagram is what you really need. If memory serves the door lock relay is up behind the center of the dash - and I put the aftermarket unit right next to it (there was space...). The "trunk" release relay lives way in the back of the vette - so I spliced onto the wire at the push button hatch release in the center console. Piece of cake, really, to install it. Just be aware not to EVER use the key to lock the doors (therby arming the alarm system), and if you Do - be Sure to use the key to Unlock the door - NOT the fob to unlock it remotely! Not even pop the hatch - if the alarm is armed it will go off should you use the fob to open the hatch too..
