Default 383! Installed the headers.

Just need to finish the exhaust, nitrous, charge the AC, install the lockup kit then it's off to the body shop!

I LOVE THOSE WIRES!!! That's the exact wire set I'm going to get here real soon!

What intake are you running? Wish I had a Demon like you do (that's what it looks like).

Thanks guys, appreciate it!

The heads are Dart Pro 1's.

Intake is an Edelbrock RPM performer Airgap. (permastar).

Good eye 4barrel, it's a Demon.

Straight plugs. There is a ton of room around the plugs w/ these headers.

Looking real good!

Are you leaving the alternator brace off?? I did when I installed my hookers because of the obvious angle of the tube there at second bolt. I havent had any problems and have made alot of runs at the track.

I've heard a few in here speak of cracked alt. caseings but mine seems to be holding well.

I guess I really do need to get off my butt and fabricate something to go to the third bolt.

Thanks Dave, 86!

Yes, I puzzled over that brace for only a minute or two. Sort of fabbing something, it looks impossible to get that brace on.

Sweet...... Relish the success once you fire it up for the first time. I can sense there are going to be lots of GPMs (grins per mile)

Where you located in AZ. I am in Chandler.

Yeah we're supposed to use those little pieces of pipe (spacers) provided and the stock bolts there and for the AC compressor brace as well. It works for the AC because it goes to the third bolt in line on that side. It doesn't on the Alt. side because of the tube bend blocking it at second bolt.

Not sure what the folks at hooker were smoking on that one.

Elka, I'm in Surprise.

The body shop I'm planning on using is in your area. Have any experience w/ Autobody Innovations?

Ya, Dave I was very impressed w/ sparkplug room, clearance and forethought on the behalf of hooker until i got to that brace, lol. It's like they figured they'd done enough.

Great looking set-up. I built a 383 with dart pro 1's with 200 cc runners. I used a Holley dual plane intake with a Edelbrock performer 750 carb. I wanted to go with an air gap but it will not clear the stock hood. I am not happy with the Holley Dual Planr so I am going to upgrade to an Edelbrock Torker 2. It will fit under the stock hood as well. What distributor and ignition system are you using?

Thanks Cal. You're right about things not fitting under the hood. The distributor(a shorty even) doesn't even really fit so I'm adding a scoop.

The ignition is all MSD. Coil, rev limiter, 6AL, Pro-billet distributor, cap, etc. Well the wires are Moroso.. so not *all* MSD.

I think we have the same heads. Are you happy with them? I really haven't put a load on the motor yet... still breaking in/finishing up.

Nice motor. What air cleaner are you using that will clear the hood?

Thanks! It's a low rise Moroso... think 14".

Edit: I put a 2 1/2" rise in the hood. Absoultely 0 clearance otherwise.
