Default 84 electric fan question

Hello all,

Took vette out for a ride... Temps went up to 230 before fan came on and then shut off when temps got to 220. However, in the past the fan would come on at 222 or 223 and then shut off at 210, which is why I'm wondering if somethings not right. When exactly is the fan on an 84 suppossed to come on / off? I did a search, but got nothing... I know this discussion has taken place.

Pete

The fans will come one at 230 and off at 195. The stock tstat is 190 or 195 I cant remember which. I replaced mine with one that turns the fan on at 200 and off at 180. It is a good idea to clean out between the radiator and AC condensor. This requires removing the fan box top but well worth the time spent. You will be amazed at how much junk gets stuck between the radiator and AC condensor.
