Default Rear hub help please

Got new rear hubs from TLD. I never even pulled them out of the box till this weekend. Got my old hub off and it has a dust seal on the inside of the hub. The new hub does not. Called the parts store they don't have it. Any ideas? If the old one needed it I kind of feel like the new one should have it too.

Anyone else buy TLD hubs and not get seals?

If you are talking about the orange rubber insert in the stock hub, when I got new ones, they did not have them. No problems--so far.

Just happened to see your thread. I am currently going through the entire rear suspension on my 84 which should be same setup. If we are talking about the same seal (?), my local O"Reilly Auto Parts states they can get them for $13. I don't know if that is for one or for two. Not really knowing how important they are, I would suspect that they are very important in keeping water/dirt out of the inner bearing area. Our hubs have drain holes just in case water does enter--why make it easier for water/dirt to get in. Just guessing but some new hubs might not come with this seal so you would have to install provided the hub is constructed for a seal.

The seals are GM "discontinued". I am also replacing the inner bearing washers which are GM "discontinued". Corvette Central carries the washer but not the seals. Best of Luck!

Forgot to mention in previous post, O'Reilly stated they can get the e-brake hardware kit which consists of return springs and shoe retainers (special order $17). My return springs are badly worn on one side--another GM "discontinued" item. Just for kickers, I have one broken tab on the e-brake wear plate which NOBODY carries or cares about. I am at the point of fabricating one!
