89 700r4 (30 spline)
At low speeds, I have a squeaky noise. Sounds like a childs swing sort of squeak. Squeaky gate hinge - you get the idea.
So - jacked up the rear end, gearbox in neutral turned the rear wheels, - squeaky squeaky.
Difficult to locate source, so disconnected propshaft from diff. Wheels turn no squeak, propshaft turn squeak.
OK - must be either in the auto box, or front propshaft UJ. Waggle propshaft, (disconnected at rear) - no squeak. Looks(sounds) like box.
Dropped box pan, ATF shampoo, , nothing to see.
Now what???
Bearing in mind the box is in neutral, it must be something on the output side. Tempted to put in new filter and Dexron III and hope for the best .... unless anyone has any other ideas...
