Tranny Leaked
Hello EveryoneI just signed on to the forum, it's awesome. I'm a lifelong Goldwing MC owner who decided to hang up my helmet and buy a Vette instead. I purchased a clean stock C4 86 automatic convertible that's mint. I only drive it on nice days and weekends. This weekend I was running about 90-100 and the vette was holding it's own very smooth when it started leaking tranny fluid on the exhaust. When I pulled over it stopped leaking and everything was OK again. I don 't know too much about Vettes so maybe somebody can shed some light on why this happenned. Does the tranny have some kind of vent that the oil leaked out of because it got hot? Do I need a tranny cooler? The tranny shifts smooth and quiet. The car starts to get a little hot in traffic about 220+ then the electric fan kicks on and it drops to 210, when it's moving it runs at about 185-190. Is it running too hot? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks, Papidos.
