On My 94 Corvette The A/c Works Great, However When I Accelerate The Blower Motor Will Blow At A Slower Speed...i Have The Auto A/c..it Seems To Be Some Sort Of Vacumun Leak..is The Auto A/c Vacumn Operated....?? Help Please....thanks, Rick
Blower is not vacuum actuated. Blower speed is based on inputs from the outside and inside air temp sensors and the temperature you've selected at the panel, unless it's at "60", at which point it should stay at max speed. If the blower is slowing down when you accelerate or at idle, I'd suspect a funky alternator first and you might want to have it load tested.
You said when you take off fast it slows down, if this is true and you are accccellerating real fast then the ac will automatically reduce to give you more horsepower and this is whether you drive a vette or any other vehicle. If you are floorboarding your car the computer will try to give you the most horsepower and shut down for a short time ancilary operations such as air. Now if you are not floorboarding then there is another problem that needs to be dealt with. Let me know more detail and as you know we at the forum will help....

Thanks For The Input So Far...with The Control Set At "60" And The Fan Speed Anywhere And I Begin To Accelerate The Fan Speed Will Reduce To Almost Nothing..i Do Not Have To Be At W.o.t. For Theis To Happen....i Know I Have A Problem Because It Never Used To Do This...car Has A New Battery And The Alternator Checks Out Fine....thats Why I Thought It Had To Do With Vacumn..thanks
you can check for vacuum leaks with either carb spray or starting fluid by spraying it on all of your vacuum hoses. If you hit a leak the engine will change sound(idle up or down) of corse this is only good in the engine compartment. If you have leakes behind the dash it will be a real PITA to find. Have you had any work done recently that could have broken a vacuum hose or loosened a connection?

Is it possible something such as leaves or something else could have gotten into your blower and when you accelerate it just pushes against the blower motor slowing it down? Are the screens in place covering your input ducts to the blower? Possible loose connects on the blower motor resistor pack and/ or poor connection through the high speed relay? Just some more questions so we can try to nail this problem...
