Default fuel pressure

I just recently put a adjustable fuel pressure reg. along with B & B 3 inch exhaust & slp cold air intake. I 've heard that the LT 4 runs best at 39 pds fuel pressure is that at idle or while applying the throttle??? ( everything else is stock ) I ve got it set at 39 at idle & runs much better & throttle response is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to know the answer to this as well, as an AFPR is in my future...

I just installed one in my LT1 and it seems to run better. It's probably just our imagination. Did you set it a 39 lbs with the key on for 2 seconds as per the Haynes manual ?

My stock LT1 seemed to run best at 39 psi. But, that was never confirmed at the track or dyno. Just my SOTP dyno.

Chevy said something about injector band width and fuel presure regulator being set at 39 lbs.
Fuel presure should be set with engine running and vaccum disconected.
I run mine at 39 on the street and at 40 psi with the barry grant nitrous on it.
I never realy played with the fuel presure at the track its too hot here .
One minute 89 degrees and when you pull up on the line 80 degrees.
All I know is 13.48 at 190 degrees motor and fuel pres at 39 psi,89 degrees out side.
It was good for the win and $500.00 this week end.

Thanks for the reply, checked pressure again with vaccum off and it was still at 39. This is what TPIS recommends with a stock motor. I have also added 3.54 gears and an SLP cai, was running 14 flat, now hoping for mid 13's.

I don't know what you are running ,no post.
L98 it shoult run 13.90 to 13.70.
If it's an LT1 13.50 to 13.85 if you forget to turn off traction control.

It's a 93 auto, and yes I would be happy with 13.5, for now a least.
