Default Central Control Module

Any source available to rebuild a Central Control Module (CCM) for a 1992 corvette. Or maybe a source for a replacement unit.
CCM Service Part# 16159188.
GM discontinued the part at this time.

Check with NAPA. They offer rebuilt GM ECMs for early C4s. Maybe they do the CCMs too.

That's sad news.

I wonder if the after-market will even step in to fill the gap?

Just remember the CCM has the VIN#, option content, passkey value, and maintains the odometer reading.

Is the GM dealerships still the only ones that can do the initial programming for the CCM? A reman or aftermarket part is going to have to accept the proper programming in order for certain components to operate correctly.

With some research, I'm sure some after-market company could do it.
But, I'm not sure if the volume is there to justify the research.
I think it was used from '90 to '96, how many cars is that?

This is just a guess, but I imagine resetting the non-volatile odometer memory mileage to zero will enable the programming for the first 100 miles.
Then, the Tech-1A and the proper "mass storage" cartridge can do the programming. I'm not sure if the Tech-2 ever had the software for the CCM.

If I remember correctly, I think GM farmed-out the refurbishing of the CCM to Delco.

Has anyone checked directly with a Delco shop to see if they can do it?

Tom the TECH2 cannot program a CCM, I tried to do this with my TECH2 a couple months ago for another Vette owner As far as I know only a TECH1a can do this.

Since the Tech1A and the MasterTech take the same software cartridges, I feel sure the MasterTech can do it too.
