Default A/C Question

Ok guys when running a Diagnostic on an 88 vert C68 electronic A/C system it reads a code of (-01) which translates to Feedback Potentiometer-open. What has happened the compressor will not engage. The system is charged so its not low bypassed the pressure switch still no compressor engagement so i ran diagnostic on the system and came up with the feedback potentiometer thing. Can anyone help me understand more on this situation what exactly do i have to replace and so on ? Appreciate the help.

I looked through my manual and couldn't get any real info on the potentiometer either
Have you tried any of the diagnostics for the ac system ?

That was the Diagnostic readout. I had to press and hold EXT TEMP button then press and release Auto fan and the code read out -01 which relates to feedback potentiometer-open ....

I think i did the diagnostic wrong it went into mode -01 then i should have advanced the mode to 8 by pressing the warm button then display the contents by pressing the cooler button. Stupid me !

I meant the diagnostics (flow charts) for each component of the AC system

The code you referenced means the dash assembly isn't getting a signal from the motor that controls the position of the temperature door. It uses this to determine how far the door is open or closed, but even if it had the code - or any code, the '88 wouldn't shut down the compressor. Check charge first - it may be low or out of gas.
