Expected power from CC305 cam?
We made a baseline and found the power to be reading a fabulous 271. I went to work and was able to pull it up to all of 315. I couldn't get anymore out of the A/F and I couldn't give it any more timing without picking up a little bit of retard. So 44 hp isn't a bad gain for a little work but the car is still a good 20 or 30 less than what I think it should be. It did manage a rather respectable 344 lbs of torque. After 5000 RPM's the torque just starts falling dramatically, which keeps his peak HP numbers down.
Ultimately I think something is just a little off on the car still. I don't know if the rockers are too tight or heads have just been ruined or what. I just can't help but feel like there should be more power in there than that. The torque is a good indicator that something is right, but something is restricting it in the upper RPM range terribly.
