I am ordering new shocks this week and wonder what yall think I should go with.
First things first, these are going on a 96 Coupe, which I understand has softer springs than earlier models.
I was originally leaning toward the Bilstein Z51, until I read a post somehwhere about the Edlebrock shocks. Apparently they have an inertia valve in them which is patented and sounds very good, for a daily driver.
Basically I want yall all to vote for one of the other and give me a reason why.
Let me save you some time- I had the exact same question about 6 months ago (96 Z51), I made the mistake and went back with brand new bilsteins due to the entire suspension. Unless you really like to drive hard in the corners I would go with the IAS which will feel much better to drive and a better looking shock.

some advice from a old Msgt usaf, do a google search before you buy the edelbrocks i found some for $75 each, but i haven't decided which to go with either?? but my came with bilsteins and i am thinking about keeping it that way?? or even KYB's i have heard go things about them and put some on my C3 stingray, and some on my saab 900se now.
I have the Edelbrocks which I like, but my Front spring is cracked again so I am going to be switching to Coilovers.. Although I am not sure which ones.
I removed Bilsteins a few months after buying my '95 convertible with 18,000 miles (and sold them through the Forum) and went with Edelbrocks--and I am very pleased. Better ride and, on the rough roads of Ohio, better traction.
