I got some projects out of the way, time to think about putting in a turbo system. The question is about investing in headers. Headers help extract gasses of course, but if the gasses just run into a restrictive turbo do the headers really do anything or would a straight log do just the same?

Gases behave more like fluids under pressure, sharp corners aren't such a big deal. the real issue is heat management. 8 tubes will stay cooler than a log. In a vette that can be a real issue. From a duribility standpoint, the log design has to be made of materails that will endure the higher temps and not crack. As well as taking into account the expansion of a log from a design standpoint to prevent snapping the header bolts off the head.
Horespower difference? maybe a couple percent worth Im guessing? hard to say due to the heat differences. From what I can tell, proper turbo selection will make up for it. If you can achieve crossover (more boost than turbine inlet pressure) with a log your "scavenging" the cylinders by a few Psi anyway.
Get Maximum Boost. Read it, then make a desicion on going turbo, how many of them, and how your going to engineer your system. That's the fun part, working out the bugs after it's built is where the frustraction begins. lol

Thanks for the info. I'm just beginning to look at turbos and I don't know much about them. I'm considering whether to go with a front mount or a rear mount right now. I also don't know if the computer can be programed for timing (no chips, I have a 94). I have a T04B turbo already but I don't know if the two turbo housings are appropriately sized. The intake side says AR 60 and the exhaust side says 1.32. Does that sound appropriate?
