Default Will the NX LT1 Kit work on my L98?

The Barry Grant website shows that they ARE different kits, but the plate should work with my L98 system, correct? Minor differences might be throttle activation bracket, I assume...but the bottom line is, will it work?

If you can find out and know for sure that the TB and plenum for the LT1 and the L98 are the same size then I dont see why it wouldn't work. The full throttle switch brackets are pretty generic. You just have to bend them and place them to suit your needs. Here's how I did mine on the L98.

A barry grant LT1 kit will not work on an L98.
The runnners or what ever they are called will not allow the plate to bolt up.
I had to switch to the NX universal kit.

Here's the NOS kit...

The PLATES look the same...

I have used the BG system on two LT1 F bodys. It does fit but on one car that had a BBK TB the plate was too thick and I had to grind clearance notches in the Thermostat housing. Using a Arizona Speed and Marine 58mm TB had no clearance issues. I remote mounted the solenoids off by the shock towers and used longer hoses to connect to the plate. Other than that the BG plate system works fine on a LT1 F body and I would suspect a Y body as well. Also the BG plate is machined for 48mm bores, I had the plate machined to 58mm at a local machine shop. The NOS kit uses a plate that is bored to 58mm but its too thick!

That's what I figgered, because IIRC the bolt pattern on the LT1 intake is the same as an L98 intake (TB's will bolt up either way)

YES! Go ahead and try it, you will have a great time tring to change your jets on the plate.

If THAT'S the only problem, is the way their jets are setup...the L98 BG plate is the SAME setup
