88 was a unique year for some parts!

88 is the tricky year, not all the later 89-96 shocks will work (not FX3).
Some will, some won't. Bilstein advertises their 88 together with the 89-96 though.

The 88 is a different lenght in the front than all the other C4s. I'm not sure, but I don't think Koni makes the front shock for the 88 C4 anymore. They will rebuild existing units. I have a full set of used (nop leaks) rebuildable adjustable Koni Yellow Sports for the 88 that I'm willing to sell. PM or email me if you are interested.
You might also look at the QA1s or Edlebrock units. Edlebrock didn't make a front shock for the 88 for a long time, but recently I was told they have a front shock to fit the 88 now.
