Default Used LT4 Cam Question.....

Got a question for all you LT1/4 guru's....
I have a chance to purchase a used 30K miles LT4 cam for $75. I have a 93 LT1. I was thinking about just adding 1.6 or 1.65 rollers to my LT1. Would I see more of an increase to go thru all the work swapping out the cam and adding rockers or just add the rockers?
Or should I just hold off and get a LT4 Hot cam??
Opinions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You won't gain much with a stock LT4 cam. Save your money for the Hot Cam.

Not enough for the PITA that a camshaft install is on these cars.

Absolutely do not get the stock LT4 cam. The difference between it and the 93 LT1 cam are mere thousandths of an inch. For all that work you would see honestly see no difference at all. An LT4 Hot cam is only about $200. You would get much more for your money and work with the Hot cam.

I've got a used Comp Cam 305 (roughly similar to Hotcam) with probably about 15,000 miles on it that I'm selling for $100.

If interested just PM me.

Thats my thinking, just wasn't sure... To get that extra 30hp from a LT1 to an LT4 was intake, heads, roller rockers and a cam... So I guess the LT4 cam just would not give that much. Is buying used ok??

I wouldn't be surprised if you lost hp/tq with the lt4 cam. the lt4 system was designed to rev...and to rev in an OEM style you have to "lay down" ramp rates.

with that said, order a custom cam from comp 224/224 on 111-113 lope sep, 2 deg advanced with their .605 lift hyd roller cam. add springs/2x roller rockers/pushrods.

oh yeah you'll need to tune as well

The LT4 cam has slightly less lift (with a given rocker arm) and slightly more duration. Definitely not worth the bother.
