Default Throttle body question - Dahhhhhhhhhh

My car is a 1987 L-98. I have had the engine appart since last winter and now have it nearly ready to start for the first time. During reassembly, I have had many moments trying to remember where certain widgets came from or just how somethimg had been mounted, but so far, I have managed figure them out or have my memory joged by pictures in the service manual, ect.

There is one connection to the throttle-body that still eludes me. On the right side, there are three hose nipples sticking out. The lower one connects to the heater (hot water) piping. The top one connects to an aluminim tube which runs down the intake/head edge to a gromet on the rocker arm cover. The middle one, which is also the smaller one, eludes me. Because it is nearly invisable due to the top hose connection, all pictures in the service manual, magazines, catalogs, etc. seem to show it making a "U" turn and going down and under the front of the tpi plenium but I can find no more than that.

Could someone please tell me where this thing goes, what it connects too, et. Or direct me to pictures or scametic????

Thanks much!!

It's for supplying vaccum to the charcoal cannister. It's plugged on my 86 as the cannister shares a vacuum tube with the PCV from intake manifold.

Sounds likr your throttle body came off of an 'F' body car. I don't think any of the Vettes had that extra fitting.

I just found this and checked on my '87 Vette. As noted above it's connected to the charcoal canister. The pipe connects to a rubber L shaped connector that in turn connects to a plastic piece of pipe that runs under the plenum and toward the driver's side of the engine. It makes a few turns and ends up running forward along the driver's side inner wheel well and connects via a rubber patch hose to a metal line. This metal line goes into another rubber hose that goes forward to a black box (can't figure out what it is for, looks more like a shield/cover than a box that is to shield some connection underneath of it, hard to describe). The line runs into it on the bottom and another rubber line comes out the bottom next to the first line and then to the charcoal canister. It does not connect to the fuel tank fitting (that's obvious!) but to the other fitting that seems to have a small valve attached to the top of it. Same info you had earlier, but just decided to add my 2 cents. Good luck!
Brad

The black box is the cover for the solenoid that is controlled by the ECM to vent the fumes to the engine under the right conditions
