FULL Nitrous Report :) :D
So, my friends finally convinced me to hook it up. My friend had a NOS-05131 Universal EFI Wet Kit at his shop, that we spent the better part of today hooking up. Took it out tonight, with a brand new 10lb bottle (which is literally DWARFED by the rear cargo compartment in the vette...maybe need a 20lb bottle
) with 950psi, and grabbed the switch as soon as the engine hit 3000rpm, in FIRST GEAR!
However, upon reading the instructions tonight, I realize that we're running it WAAAY fat! We're running 53N/47F jets, when I read the instructions for this specific kit, it says to run a 51N/34F for a 100hp kit. So, I'm literally spraying more fuel than is needed for a 150hp kit!
I'm sure the extra fuel didn't HURT me, but it'll surt hit a LOT harder once we get the correct jets in there. BTW: No Camaro showdown this weekend, hopefully next weekend. No doubt, I'll be prepared
Enjoy and be a bit careful. NO2 is great unless you get careless. Make sure you are pulling some timing...you don't want detonation. Have fun
It's great stuff huh TIMSPEED?
My 90 is a fiend and I'm her pimp/dealer!
Just be careful and dont forget to purge before every run. Just a short burst every time before you run to ensure that the N20 is right there at the solenoids with the fuel. I've done some research and REDC4CORVETTE will agree, most N20 related fires on EFI cars happen when air is in the N20 line and no purge is used and fuel is right there (no air in line) then after a couple of runs and due to the improper atomization of the fuel being present and NO N20 because of lack of purge will allow the fuel to puddle in intake. Then a spark happens while a valve is open and BOOM!
You also need the purge to evacuate lines after use to save the solenoid seals. You dont store the car over night with bottle open and N20 in the lines.
Always close your bottle valve and purge pressure out of line for storage. You probably already know this stuff but I thought I'd share in case you didn't. Better safe than sorry.
Play it safe and dont get greedy and Nitrous is a great mod. I love it.
I realized that I was MAYBE hitting a 50hp kit, because it was SO rich (according to calculators & NOS). So, now I have the 53/36 combo in it. (NOS Recommends 51/34 for 100hp, online calculators say 51/29; these jets are the closest we had.)
Where do you live in the Houston area? That pic in your avatar looks like my car.... and my wife!!!! LOL
I live on the North side (Woodlands area) and run a slightly modded C4 as well. A bit more power than stock. He he.

i only played around with a 50ish shot (set to 100, but no heater, low pressure, etc)...i was amazed at even what that much did when racing against some cars!

When we going to Sacramento??
