Hotcam install question... help please

Default Hotcam install question... help please

My neighbor and I are in the beginning portions of my cam install and are in need of some advice. Do you need to crack the AC system in order to move the condensor, fans, radiator...ect...ect...??? Anyone who can offer advice please call me!!!!

Also, if I do have to drain the freon, anyone know if it is 134A or R12

I removed the AC condensor hose from the compressor to the exchanger unit; nothing else. You will lose your freon. Its R 134 on a 96.

134a in the 96 and you don't have to crack the system. Just remove the ac from the mounts and move it aside thats all. I will call you for the gory details. There are a few other tricks besides the band-aids.

I just moved everything out of the way during my install. Its a little tough to get around but I never had to un-pressurize the system.

I R&R'ed my engine w/o disturbing the refrigerant, did the cam install before that the same way.

Wow, you guys are all smarter than me. I didn't think there was any way to work around that hugh condensor. I guess I just didn't want it enough. But I needed to r&r my AC anyway.

Just move it around a little, you DON'T have to drain the system.
