my pass side pwr window ribbon decided to strip out this weekend, I ordered a new ribbon from MidAmer. should be here this week, since we will be getting some rain from T/S Dennis, i need to raise my window manually, any ideas ? Do I have to tear the door pannel appart? Thanks< JIm R
same thing happened to me last year when I was about 50 miles from home in a driving storm.
What I found out was that by removing a door speaker I was able to reach the broken track and slide it up to where it conatcted the motor gear, presto, up it went.
By the way, make sure you have a rivet gun and a big fat pop rivet to put the end together when you get the track.
Another tip, most auto parts stores sell a generic track that is labled for dodge/plymouth. it works great, dig a chunk out of the door and take it with you match up the teeth. Its about a foot to long but dont trim it until its slid into the track and run all the up/down. Its alot cheaper and redily availible.
