When ever I accelerate my 92' from a stop I hear a single click or snap coming from the left rear wheel area, as well as on deceleration and on up shifts, it seems whenever the torque changes on the drive axle I hear this click or snap, I can tell you what its not , all of the u-joints are new as well as the brakes,With the trans. in park on level ground you can rock the car back and forth and hear the noise at the left wheel only, any ideas ?
It still could be a u joint; just because it's new doesn't mean it's fine. But with that said, have you had it on a lift? Since just rocking it will cause the sound, as soon as you put it on a lift, and turn the LR wheel, you'll hear wherever the noise is coming from. If not the joints, it may be within the axle itself. Tell us how it all turns out.

I had this exact symptom. At the time the car was under extended warranty. After the dealer replaced the u-joints the noise was still there. Long story short...The fix was to replace the rear wheel bearing and the yoke.
Mine used to do the same thing when accelerating from a stop. It is caused by rust on the drive yoke splines. If you remove the hub/bearing, clean the rust from the drive yoke and hub/bearing splines with a wire brush, and reassemble with some antiseize it should go away. This worked for me.

It happened to mine as well. All I did was remove the axle, clean the spline, coat it with anti-seize, then reassemble. Torque the axle nut to spec and it's never made a sound since. Bearing and U-joints were fine.
There is a thin washer between the spline and hub assembly. Sometimes this wears out. Something to check when you take it apart.
