It will be worthwile if you like the look of the tips, you need new exhaust, and you want a different sound with no resonance. I'd not bet on any more noticable power though, the stock systems (for LT1 at least) flow well. Does your car have a true dual system with a crossover of some sort? Both my stock LT4 and Corsa have these features.

Yes, the LTx systems flow well, and supply nice power.
However:
I see you have no idea how pitiful the L98 exhaust is...
You don't say what year you have, but the earlier the L98, the more power can be had by replacing the stock exhaust with a good one...
