This started to happen after the new engine and resurface of the non-stock single mass flywheel. When I press the clutch pedal all the way down I hear a scraping sound. This only occurs pressing the pedal down the last 20% or so of the entire pedal travel. It sounds like the throwout bearing is contacting something other than the pressure plate arms because you can hear the rotational scraping sound. Any ideas what that would be?
I had a similar problem and when I changed the clutch which by the way was needed, I found that the clutch fork was moving to the front, scraping the clutch.
The clutch fork is mounted directly into something that looks like a big screw with a ball in the end. This screw is secured at the back with another screw wich was broken in my car.
When the screw moved forward because of vibration it allowed the fork to make contact with the clutch pressure plate. This became more evident as time passed.
The problem is that you have to remove the transmission to see the problem.
I had that exact same problem and the problem was the roll pins on the PP where hittig the clutch fork. My problem turned out to be a defect in the PP and it was replaced free of cost. As far as I know Spec, Carolina clutch and the rest all use Valeo PP's, they just paint them differnt colors and put there stickers on them.

I pulled the tranny today to see what was the problem and sure enough as stated above the fork was rubbing on the pressure plate. But mine was rubbing on the edge of the pressure plate and just touching the roll pins. Also, I found out that the shop who put the clutch back after doing the engine lost one of the flywheel bolt and used some other bolt that had a taller head on it. So the clutch disc springs were rubbing on it and ground that down. Of course, the springs got gound down too.
Also the machine shop ground the entire flywheel instead of just the removable friction surface so I will probably have to get an entire new setup.
I don't want to take it back to the shop the screwed it up because they will just do something else wrong. I will try to get some cash out of them though.
I virtually never take my car to a shop but with the wife complaining about me hogging up the garage if I did the engine, I did not have much choice. Of course here I am having to fix things the shop screwed up on.
