I changed mine out the other day without benefit of a helper. I used a 3/8 X 44 inch pipe with eyebolts stuck in each end that had about 6" of threads each. I put the bolts from the bottom knuckle of each spindle through the eyebolts and used a nut on each eyebolt to spread the assemblies apart to remove and install each shaft. Worked like a charm.......
This really does beat having a helper jerk on each spindle outward to gain clearance while one tries to stab the u-joint saddles with the shafts!
Well, I sometimes take pictures while doing these various projects, if for no other reason than my own refresher while doing it again in the future. However, like I said, I was working on my own so I had greasy fingers the whole way. No camera in the 'picture' this time. sorry..... :o
