Default Any experts out there?

I was trying to jump my 93 and now nothing happens when I turn the key to try to start it (no starter). The digital display is not working either, but the gauges and other displays seem to be OK. Is there anyway I can tell if and what the extent of the damage is to the ECM and digital display? Will the digital display work if the ECM is fried?

Sounds like a dead battery or bad battery wires.

ALWAYS try the cheap/free fix first - and this does sound like it could be a bad battery. You were trying to jump start it, so it was low or bad to begin with, and a bad cell can cause similar problems. Switch out with a known good battery and see what develops before spending money on anything . . . and good luck.

Is there a fusable link going to the starter?

On earlier cars there is no fusable link in the cable to the starter from the battery. There may be a fusable link to the solinoid/switch circuit. On my car, it is best to remove the left fender (only takes ablut 5 minutes or less). There is a terminal distribution block under the battery box, with most of the fusable links all in one spot. I think it might be worth a try.

Also, if you had to grind it long and hard while jumping, you may have damaged the starter, itself, but this would not explain the cluster problems.

Good luck.
