Default CCM code 26 means replace CCM?

The CCM has a code 26. If I pull the "wake up" fuse (same as AC) for the CCM the pin D11 on the CCM is below 2 volts. If I insert the fuse the voltage is about 3 and the LCD in the instrument cluster goes blank. Is the CCM bad?

Interesting since code 26 is LCD blanking.

I would think if you have a code 26 the LCD should be blank. So how would you be able to pull any codes from the CCM since the LCD is blank? Are you using a Vetronix tester or scanner software to read the code?

The manual says if only code 26 is set to check
the following.

Remove the instrument cluster. Turn the ignition to run
and measure the voltage on the instrument wiring connector harness pin A13 and ground.

If you measure zero volts and code 27 is also set you have a short on A13 to ground.

If you measure zero volts and only code 26 is set, you have an open from pin A13 to the CCM pin D11.

If you measure 12 volts there is a short to 12 volts.

If you measure 2 to 5 volts the manual says to place a 1200 ohm resistor from pin 13 to ground. This simulates the resistance of the Dash Cluster. Turn the ignition to run.

Hopefully your problem is a hard failure.

If the code 26 sets the problem is in the CCM.
If the code does not set the problem is in the Cluster.

Good point! The LCD was blank so I could not read codes via the CCM. I connected a scanner to pin M but could not retrieve any codes, some serial data problem. Like I said the LCD was blank, but during cranking a history code 26 showed up in the LCD.

OK, I'll try the resistor next. Thanks
