Pretty much as the title says, I had all 4 balanced when the tires were new and have put about 8,000 miles on them. I'm wondering if it's time to get them re-balanced to extend the life or just forget it since the tires won't last much longer anyways?
They are ZR-1 wheels on Sumitomo HTRZ tires.

Typically when you buy tires they recommend that you have them rotated and balanced every 6000 miles. Rotation of course assumes that you have the same size tire front to rear, if not you can't so much do that. When I bought my tires they come with free lifetime rotate and balance. Probably isn't REQUIRED per say, but it certainly wouldn't hurt anything. Its just good car maintanence practice that 99% of drivers in the world avoid.
Well sometimes I get a slight vibration and by looking at the tread it appears I can maybe get another 10,000 miles on them so I think I'll go ahead and have them balanced.
The balancing advice and the Hunter Road Force Balancer, 9700 is/are great ideas. Depending on the tires, in some cases, just balancing them on a regular basis (not even rotating) can increase their lifespan. Good luck with it.
