As the title states I need to clear code 42 on my 90 L98. I used an AutoXray Scanner to find out the car threw a code. My scanner would not clear the code so I don't know what to try next. Please give me the solution.
I also have a thread running in the Tech Section titled "Mods Complete - Engine Dead - Help". I would greatly appreciate it if you have not read my thread please do so. I need help fast with this situation as my wife and I have plans to take this car on a trip next week to celebrate our anniversery.
I left the battery disconnected overnight and when I scanned it to see if the code had cleared, it had not. Any ideas as to what this could mean? I also have a thread running in the Tech Sect. about my ignition system not producing any spark. Could the two be connected?

Code 42 and no spark are definately related.
Code 42- This code will be set when the engine is running at 600 rpm or greater, and there is no pulse on the white wire from the ecm to the ignition module for more than 200ms (milliseconds). Common causes for this code include bad connections, frayed wiring, or broken wires such as the tan/black (ecm pin D5) purple/white( ecm pin B5) or white wire (ecm pin D4). Check your wiring carefully along with the connections back to the ecm.
