Default How to gap a plug?

In your humble opinion, which is the best way to gap a plug?
1. Using the coin looking device that has the rim that increases as you go around?
2. Using a feeler gauge?
3. Using a wire gauge?

The wire style is the most accurate I believe.

Default I have always been taught...

I have used a "wire" type gauge since I was small. I still do today. There is a "gun type" gapper that Summit sells (JAC-380700) made by Jacobs that looks cool if you are doing a bunch of plugs.

I set mine with a wire gauge but double check myself with a feeler. Just **** I guess.

I have both gappers and both work well.

I use a wire gauge. I was taught that the drag on the gauge, as you are pulling it through the gap, should feel almost like a magnet. Not too tight, not too loose. That's how I've been doing it anyway.

Wire gage is the most accurate, no doubt about it.

I used a wire gauge for years, the trick is to have "good feel" as to understand they are all the same. When I was gapping big @.060 and .080 I bought an Accel tool it came w/interchangable blades (from .020 -.120) and the plug screws into the base, then the arm has a gapping blade on it which is put between the center and has a thumb wheel which presses the top band against the blade (makes it flat to electrode and on big gaps rebends to flat, as some plugs were designed for .035-.040). This works real well, just isnt the fastest set-up but real consistant gaps.
