Blown head Gasket????
My small problem of "puff of white smoke @ WOT" as described
here has just been upgraded to "severe white smoke @ WOT".
So far my mechanic thinks its a head gasket but hasnt looked at it yet.
What kind of $$$ adventure am I in for to replace the head gasket? Whats the worst case scenerio if it isnt the head gasket?
I just had major major white smoke pouring out of my exhaust while WOT merging @ highway on-ramp

As far as the $$$ adventure goes, if you do it yourself minimal $$$ more adventure. If you get your mechanic to do it lotsa $$$ and no adventure. The gasket's not expensive but you'll pay a lot for the labor. Heck for the same price as paying a mechanic to do your gasket you could slap on some long tubes while you've got everything apart if you haven't already.
