Radio interference
my 95 vette has got some sort of interference in the radio signal. when playing a CD there is no problem, but when using the radio the car picks up some signal that is a popping sound. it increases in frequency with the engine speed. it also gets louder as the volume. what does this mean and how can i fix it? the radio is stock. anyone have an idea where i can go to fix this? what's causing it? pretty annoying. please help thanks in advance.

before you go throwing money into a new alternator, you should know that i have replaced my alternator more than once and i never did get my radio whine to go away.
There is a ground in your electrical system somewhere. Could be the alternator, but it might not be.
since it only happens when the antennae is raised, you might want to check the antennae?

I had the same problem has the rest of you. When I chromed out the engine, and replaced alt. with a chrome one the noise went away.
