Well, here I go again, damn it! I have another bad Opti-spark unit. After doing a little research, I discovered that ther was a TSB written on this optispark unit back in 1992. Now this is the second unit that has been in my car since I bought it 7 years ago, but the unit that is in there now, I put in not even a year and a half ago. And for those of you who have changed one, you know what a pain in the ars it is. Anyway, I need to find a new unit and was wondering if that dealership in Oklahoma, Superior Chevrolet I think, is still offering 10% over cost on there parts to COrvette Forum Folks. Does anyone out there know who I can contact?
I'd buy the Delteq opti eliminator if I were in your spot. Sure its pricey but you'll come out even in the long run because you won't be buying Optis every other year anymore.
I chose the Dynaspark system. It was a little cheaper than the Delteq and you can rebuild it if it breaks. However it is fully sealed and vented to prevent breakage. The Delteq still uses the opti to get a signal (low voltage side) so it really doens't eliminate it's need. It just eliminates the parts (high voltage side) that usually fails.

These are exactly the reasons I opted for the DynaSpark, too. So far, I'm very pleased with it after a year of use. I'd never install another OEM Opti, when there is a better choice in the aftermarket.
