'85 automatic. I'm having trouble upshifting gears, most noticeably from first to second, it doesn't go through with the shift at normal pressure of the gas pedal. I either have to let off the gas and give it a second and it will shift or jam down on the gas and "force" it to shift. Any ideas?
Since it sounds like the WOT shift is ok, assuming fluid level is up to the mark, run through the factory TV cable "adjustment" procedure. This essentially amounts to:
-depress the tang on the TV cable mounting bracket
-move the cable head back toward the mounting bracket
-depress the accelerator fully to the floor once (engine off)
-manually rotate the throttle to WOT to verify the TV cable head has been pulled to the proper position.
If this doesn't solve the part throttle shifting have a shop measure line pressures.
Thanks guys. I've got a fixer up here and there's a lot of work to be done on it. I have plenty of more questions...you think the best way to do it is to ask 'em one by one in the forum?
