Default Oil Temp. Sensor

Has anyone replaced their oil temp sensor on the LT-1? I'm talking about the one above the oil filter housing. (not the pressure / fuel pump switch behind the EGR). I can't even see the damn thing let alone change it out. Thanks for any help.

I am also intrested in this post. My gauge started bouncing around after the last time I changed the oil; quite a coincidence.

I swapped mine out very recently, it's actually pretty easy. You really should have the oil filter removed, it makes it easier to work around. Once the oil filter is removed you sould be able to reach up and feel the sensor, just disconnect the wiring and use a standard box-end wrench to remove the sensor. When you are putting the new sensor in be VERY careful not to over tighten it or else the plastic end will snap...ask me how I know!

I was going to TRY and go in from the top side this morning, or at least see if was possible by removing the rear wheel panel to get access. I just changed the oil filter recently and was trying to avoid taking it off.
Thanks for the info.

Not sure what it's like with stock manifolds but with long tubes it does not look hard at all. Although I have been putting it off all summer long. Mine stoped working all together. I'm just not sure it's the sensor or a wire problem, I had the tranny out last winter and may have pinched a wire between the trans and motor. I just can't see anything or feel it.

Just do another oil change and fix it I guess.
