MAP sensor question?
shame on me for not having a shop manual, but I would like to test my MAP sensor, and I am not sure of the procedure. I have a MAP sensor harness to measure the voltages, but I don't know the methodology of testing it. The sensor has 3 wires, black, green and white. I assume the black is ground. One of the other wires is a 5V reference voltage from PCM, and the remaining wire varies voltage depending on the absolute pressure difference between the outside world and the negative pressure in the manifold. The most I know is that low pressure will produce a low voltage, and this voltage should read about 1-2V. A higher pressure will produce a higher voltage, and this voltage should measure about 4-4.8V.
Any insight as to the test method for a MAP sensor would be greatly appreciated.....
